Partner – Revenue Growth; Interim and Fractional CMO

Jeff Caplan, based in Boston, is a TechCXO Partner in the Revenue Growth practice. He is most frequently called on by founders, investors, boards, and senior executive teams to build marketing strategies and data-driven programs for fast-growing B2C and B2B companies, particularly within the technology, financial services, retail, automotive, and nonprofit sectors. He supports companies as an interim and fractional CMO, marketing leader and Chief Growth Officer.

Jeff is a successful entrepreneur and corporate executive. He co-founded 89 Degrees, a CRM and Loyalty marketing agency that grew to 80+ FTE at the time it was acquired in 2018 (with earn-out ending in 2021). Jeff oversaw the Client Services, Data Science, and Partnership practice areas at 89 Degrees, and directly managed the work for numerous brands, including Hulu, Jeep, Hyundai, CVS, Daimler Trucks, 1800-Flowers, and Samsung. In addition, Jeff oversaw the marketing function and served on the Executive Committee for Verbind, a venture-backed software company acquired by SAS, and managed sales and marketing for a paper recycling company acquired by Waste Management. He has also held leadership roles at Harte-Hanks, Wells Fargo Bank, and Accenture.

A highly collaborative partner and mentor, Jeff uses his experience to deliver outstanding results, while building the internal skills and best practices that create long-term success.

Active in the community, Jeff has led pro bono consulting teams of business executives advising mission-driven organizations for over a decade. He also sits on the boards of the Old North Foundation (oldnorth.org) and Community Consulting Teams (cctboston.org.).
