David has been a technology CFO for more than 20 years, joining start-ups very early on in order to provide the CFO leadership to support both the launch and the rapid scale-up of finance and operational models.
Most notably, David’s CFO work experience, includes: being hired as an outside employee, #1 of Color Kinetics, where he led the finance organization thru rapid revenue growth, a successful IPO in 2004 (Nasdaq: CLRK) and subsequent sale to Philips in 2007 for $800m. He was then hired as employee #24 for Joule Unlimited, a leading next-generation biofuels company where he was brought in to implement systems and controls, help raise equity and debt financing, and monitor the expansion of the technology from lab stage to outdoor demonstration. Most recently, David was the CFO for Lumenpulse, a company that over the past five years has gone from start-up to a world leader in architectural LED lighting systems and technologies.
David has extensive experience in securing financing (debt, private and public equity), building the infrastructure needed to support rapid growth and overseeing the financial drivers in a variety of business models that include direct and indirect sales, as well as OEM and licensing. In addition, David has extensive experience with businesses needing to manage complex operating and supply chain challenges for both company-owned and contract-manufacturing models.
David began his career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen in Boston, and received a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross and an M.S. in Accounting from Northeastern University.
