Jim De Vico is a fractional Chief Operating Officer who helps founder-led technology and IT services companies, with a focus on managed service providers, build the operating structure required to scale and to sell.

He has spent 24 of his 40 years in business in the COO seat. At one MSP he tripled monthly recurring revenue, built an offshore delivery team without losing clients, and helped earn the firm a place on the 2025 Channel Partners MSP 501. At a managed services provider to the shared space industry, he redeployed talent so the founders could focus on product and market, built the contracted revenue base a buyer could underwrite, and ran operations through the company’s acquisition by Yardi Systems and its post-close integration.

His work begins where the founder has become the operating system. The technical capability is real and the client relationships are real, but nobody owns capacity, documentation is thin, and every cross-functional decision escalates to the top. Jim installs the operating layer that removes the constraint, then hands it to the people who will run it. Engagements typically cover service delivery and engineering operating models, offshore and outsourced delivery, contract and recurring revenue structure, planning and reporting cadence, and preparing a founder-led business for sale.

Jim’s own ventures inform the work. He co-founded Computer Age Dentist, a dental technology company later acquired by Medical Dynamics, and founded Senior Living Watch, a subscription platform that monitors senior care facilities for government inspection citations and alerts families when new findings post. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from UCLA and serves on the boards of A World Fit for Kids and Sidewalk Stories LA.
