Brian Rauls is a fractional financial and operations executive, driving finance, accounting, HR, operations, and legal for startups in the technology, financial services, and consulting sectors. His areas of expertise include cash management, financial controls and, accounting policy & systems, and the implementation of best practices. In addition, he serves as an innovative, strategy-oriented CFO/COO capable of building high-performing teams, implementing rapid transitions, and positively impacting the bottom line and corporate culture.

As a highly skilled communicator, he manages relationships with C-level executives, investors, internal teams, partners, and clients and is adept at identifying critical issues and formulating and implementing solutions quickly, decisively, and cost-effectively while maintaining the highest level of professional ethics and personal integrity.

He has assisted many startup software companies to grow their business from the ground up by raising capital, improving and expanding banking relationships, managing lenders, and working with Board of Directors and investors. He works closely with CEO’s in managing the day-to-day operations and assisting with complex business issues that new CEO’s face as they start and grow their businesses. Among his career highlights, Brian served as:

  • CFO for Certona where he oversaw annual operating spend of $25 million while managing HR, legal, and accounting. Drive banking relationships, board of directors communications and presentations, audit, tax, payroll, legal contracts, operations, budgeting and planning, financial reporting, stock option management, and investor relations.
  • President of BMR Financial Services, Inc., an independent financial/operations consultancy specializing in the areas of Finance, Operations Management, and Accounting. 
  • SVP, Corporate Finance for New Century Mortgage, providing the Financial Planning & Analysis function.

Brian also has extensive experience as an independent management consultant specializing in reorganization of troubled companies.  His typical clients were operating under Chapter 11.

Brian holds a BA in Operations Management, Production, and Inventory Control from California State University, Fullerton.
