Partner – Product & Technology; Interim and Fractional CIO, CTO

Eric Faulkner is a Partner in TechCXO’s Product & Technology Practice. He provides executive-level fractional CTO support, software product and IT consulting for fast-growing, VC & PE-backed digital product businesses and technology-enabled services business.

As a CTO and Product & Technology Transformation Specialist, Eric leads the creation and implementation of software products. He combines extensive C-Level SaaS product and professional services experience to rapidly grow revenue while expanding product portfolios; leading end-to-end technical analysis and due diligence across both sides of M&A and PE-fundraising. Eric also builds, coaches and mentors stateside, nearshore, and offshore staff to create cost-effective, high caliber product delivery teams; and nurtures organization-wide, cross-party buy-in to the technology change agenda.

During his distinguished career, Eric held the following positions:

SVP of Business Technology, 10Pearls – Eric led US-based Software Architecture, DevOps, Salesforce.com, Product Development, Project Management, and UX/UI Design teams (>20 staff) for this mobile app and software development company for customers ranging from well-funded startups to Fortune50 companies. Eric’s key achievements included:

    • Facilitated Design Sprint / MVP definition activities for new web apps and mobile apps per quarter
    • Led technical and product teams performing work on 15 to 20 concurrent statements of work (SOW), totaling multi-million revenue annually.
    • Contributed to new sales and business development activities, leading to double-digit key accounts and overall revenue expansion.

CTO, Corcentric – Eric led all technology teams (> 200 staff) across the combined organizations as CTO, including Product Development & QA, Technical Operations, Corporate IT, and Security & Compliance functions. He led technology and product integration of Determine’s 5 products and corporate IT into Corcentric’s portfolio. He also led product development teams to initiate a re-platforming process for legacy product features into a unified Source to Pay platform based on Determine’s technology. In addition, Eric expanded Corcentric’s security and compliance stance through several product/IT improvements, strengthened internal training / security awareness programs, and grew NIST principles across organization. He also maintained SSAE-16 SOC 1 and 2 Type 2 Certifications and HIPAA attestations and delivered GDPR and CCPA implementation across the product suite and web presences.

CTO, Determine – Eric led all technology and professional services teams (>150 staff) as CTO, including Product Management, Product Development & QA, Technical Operations, Corporate IT, Security & Compliance functions, and the Professional Services organization. Key achievements included:

    • Led the technology diligence process for acquisition of Determine by Corcentric.
    • Led technology and product integration of 2 key acquisitions.
    • Turned around Determine Professional Service team to profitability from $1M+ losses per quarter on a $30M total revenue business.

CIO, Federated Sports & Gaming – Eric led all digital / software development efforts and managed all information systems and supporting technology for this ground-up startup venture focused on creating the first international invitation-only professional poker league driven by objective and measurable criteria, holding live events in Las Vegas with television programming broadcast on CBS.

Eric has also held senior technology leadership positions with Network Solutions, William Hill, and YouBet.com. He began his career with Accenture in their technology practice.

He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He holds a Master of Information Technology from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology / Minor in Business Administration from Bradley University.
