How we’re using Revenue Growth Agent, AI solution, to prepare for buyer conversations and carry what we’ve learned into the next meeting.
Across our work, we’ve trained roughly 10,000 sellers in complex selling skills. Experience has taught us how easily even established sales disciplines can become inconsistent over time without continuous conversation intelligence.
When we began analyzing transcripts from our own early prospect calls using Revenue Growth Agent, an AI-powered sales preparation and coaching tool, some of those gaps appeared in our conversations, too. Guilty. Specifically, we weren’t always going deep enough into buyers’ decision criteria or exploring what would happen if they chose to do nothing.
Seeing those gaps in our own work has reinforced why sales coaching needs to continue long after the initial sales and business development training ends.
Revenue Growth Agent helps us shorten the preparation work without stripping out human judgment. We can enter what we already know about the contact and company, including the person’s role, LinkedIn profile, and existing context. Initial research comes back in less than two minutes. Comparable preparation once took 30-60 minutes.
A new lead, for example, may come in with little more than a contact’s name, LinkedIn profile, and a note that the company needs a fractional chief marketing officer (CMO). If the company is struggling to generate demand, the tool can predict pain points and suggest questions to help guide our initial conversation about the problems the business is trying to solve.
We still review the output and add what we know. The research gives us a stronger starting point for understanding the business and preparing questions that reflect the situation in front of us. After a meeting, we use AI-notetaker transcripts to easily add what we learned during the prospect discussion back into Revenue Growth Agent, where it can support subsequent conversations and help develop a proposal based on the prospective client’s needs.
The context also carries forward. In one case, we returned to an opportunity after two weeks and 42 conversations with other prospects. Revenue Growth Agent immediately brought the earlier context and next questions back into view, so we did not have to reconstruct the opportunity from memory.
For a fractional chief revenue officer, that continuity matters as much as the time savings. Better preparation makes it easier to pick up where the buyer left off and spend the conversation on what actually needs to move forward.
Companies can invest considerable time in sales training, only to find that reinforcement falls away once sellers return to their regular work. A manager’s next one-on-one often becomes a forecast discussion, leaving little time to review how the seller is conducting discovery.
In almost every training curriculum, what we are teaching sellers are structured ways to learn critical thinking skills. Revenue Growth Agent gives us a way to analyze prospect-call transcripts soon after a conversation and identify gaps against MEDDIC, a sales qualification methodology. Our own call analysis revealed gaps in how we explored buyers’ decision criteria and the cost of doing nothing. Without a clear understanding of how a buyer will make the decision, we may be carrying risks in an opportunity that haven’t surfaced during discovery.
After every sales call, the Revenue Growth Agent identifies five highest-priority questions to carry into the next conversation. They are based on gaps in the prior discussion, including areas where the buyer’s decision process or the consequences of inaction needed more depth.
A seller should not have to wait two weeks for a manager’s one-on-one or depend on that manager finding 30 minutes to review every recording. AI can analyze each transcript within minutes and surface patterns across conversations. Sellers can review their own feedback soon after a call and address unanswered questions in the next meeting.
The manager can then spend coaching time on the behaviors that need attention and how to improve them, and provide insights to sharpen how best to approach the prospect. Consider a seller who repeatedly struggles to identify the economic decision-maker. Looking across several calls helps the manager recognize that pattern and work with the seller on how to approach those conversations differently.
“AI makes sales coaching constant instead of one and done.”
Even experienced sellers can drift from established disciplines. Continuous transcript analysis gives managers a stronger starting point for coaching and helps reinforce the behaviors that matter most. RGA’s new MCP functionality is automating these processes even further.
Our experience with Revenue Growth Agent is changing how we approach sales improvement in our client engagements. As fractional executives, we can bring these capabilities directly into a company’s sales process and use actual buyer conversations to identify where discovery needs more attention.
The goal is to put the time saved to better use. Gartner found that AI was saving sellers an average of 4.8 hours per week, while 72% of sales organizations reported low reinvestment of that time into higher-value activities. Within a client engagement, we can help sellers use that time to prepare for buyer conversations and help managers make coaching a more consistent part of the sales process.
