In 2003, TechCFO began in Atlanta, offering fractional and interim Finance and Operations executives. We founded TechCXO to serve the growing need from startups and fast-growth businesses primarily in the $2-50 million range — organizations that don’t have the time to search or means to install top executives.
Since then, our team has continued to expand and fuel an entire industry. In 2007 and 2008, we opened our first new offices, in Boston and Research Triangle Park, and made the INC 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies list. The momentum continued in 2009 and 2010 with the launch of two new service lines, CMO and CSO fractional executive services.
The next decade brought with it a rebrand toTechCXO, to reflect the addition of more new service lines – technology (CTO), Human Capital (CHRO) and Staff. A period of accelerated growth followed, reaching 120 C-Level Partners, 100+ operational and strategic staff, an annual revenue of $50M+, and more than 1,000 early-mid stage clients.
In 2023, CXO Partners brand extension launched as a response to clients’ request for transformational consulting and full- time interim support for PE- backed, middle-market companies.
In total, we have provided executive leadership, advisory, and consulting services for more than 7,000 businesses and VC & PE firms. This work has included scores of IPOs, debt and equity raises, acquisitions, technology integrations, new customer sales, and exits with a total value of more than $7B.
